2025 - new art

I've made some 16"x20 versions of two of the 5"x7" commissions I created in late 2024, the heron and egret in Claude Monet paintings. I also worked with a composite image of an owl and van Gogh's "The Starry Night". I'm enjoying the additions of birds in the foreground of these familiar paintings -- and working with these old masterpieces and seeing them anew.

Preparing for a 2024 gallery show

I'm making a series of birds/animals in front of unusual backgrounds for a show next summer. These are my recent pieces. The white egret has been placed over a digitally altered landscape, filtered, cut into strips and enhanced with gold leaf. The green heron was placed over a 1500's world map and has pieces of a vintage Rand McNally map added to the final layer along with copper leaf.
