Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, purchased six of my collages to hang in their Healing Center. I'm thrilled they thought my work would engage people in their healing process! I love the idea of people getting up close to the art, seeing the cut strips of imagery and then discovering the bits of text, shredded currency, postage stamps and maps, and getting lost in the art for awhile.
In April I was in a group show with three of my neighbors at Exhibit A Gallery in Peoria Heights. I showed my newest mixed media pieces combining a bird or animal with an Impressionist painting. My neighbor Theresa showed mixed media paintings, Dave Wood showed his creative art glass, and Joe Couri exhibited his photography. What a fun experience!
